...or is it? Smoke on start up presumably can be either very cheap or very expensive to fix.

What would the experts on here suspect as the cause?

I also like the look of oneye's black RS4 that is for sale, which may actually be a cheaper car as it doesn't appear to have any problems. Its my favourite colour too

Anyone know roughly the cost of having the DVD screens retrofitted in the headrests as per the silver ebay car? It would be our family car so I would like to have them, but obviously it would be stupid to buy an RS4 based on whether it has screens or not!

I think you would need to see what 'slightly smokey' means. That fact this it clears when it's warmed up a bit
is positive (again, whatever that actually means). Smokey exhaust normally means your are combusting a bit
of oil. This could be caused by excessive oil in the inlet tract (a possibility given the way the PCV system vents
into the inlet) and/or worn rings. If I had 15grand and someone who would take my car off me I would definitely
be interested in this.
