Yeah, just been looking into plastic welding.... will probably do this route. Will get some ABS plastic welding rods. It should work ok with my heated paint stripper.

RS4's do sit lower than S4's, but are also heavier.

It won't lower the S4 as much, it'll probably sit higher, or as high as standard, the lighter weight is unlikely to compress the RS4 springs enough...

How much does a S4 weigh ?

S4 avant is about 1570KG, the saloon is 1540KG according to the sticky

Hmmm this has been the subject of much contemplation on my part.. does it really make that much difference? I dont dislike the current shifter feel, i wouldn't say it was particularly long throw, but everyone seems to love the short shifters so i'm thinking maybe there is something in it...

How easy was yours to fit Adam?

Try fitting a DTS now Adam and you will notice an even bigger improvement. :wink:

I've asked for one for my b/day.... fingers crossed ;)

James, pop over and have a go yourself if you want. Fitted in about an hour and 30 mins.... I fitted some bits round the wrong way :oops:

Registration certificate lists 1670kg for my avant and I'm actually weighed it, exactly 1750kg with 70kg driver and half a tank of fuel.

I have a Tanoga short shift - what difference will a DTS make? And why?

nice one, cheers dude, i may well have to do that. I got the other side of my rear brakes to rebuild this weekend assuming its stays dry but i'll have a word with the calender and see if we cant arrange something some time :thumbs:

Picked up a full RS4 exhaust on Tuesday, should go nicely with my RS4 rear bumper ;)

Going to gut the pre-cats soon :D
