isofix RS4 child seat
isofix RS4 child seat
Hi guys, sad question i know but needs must. has anyone found a nice looking isofix child seat? I need to get one black if possible. Halfords have a nice seat which is black and has recaro on it that would look great but it's not isofix. my son is 2 years old if that helps.
any advise would be welcome.
cheers
Jim

RE: isofix RS4 child seat
you can check out the britax website - enter car details and they'll show you the selection.
(FYI, car seats go by childs weight rather than age - so might extend your options if you werent aware already. and apologies if you already knew).

RE: isofix RS4 child seat
Jim,
I went with this one:
http://www.britax.co.uk/ProductDetail.j ... d=7&type=1
I bought it as it came out on top in the Which child seat survey (both in terms of safety and comfort etc )
It matches the interior pretty well to be honest and its a very easy to use piece of kit.
When looking around don't be fooled by the all in one seats that go from ages 1-12. As Which put it, in order to be suit all ages a fair bit of compromise it built into the design. The way I looked at it I would rather pay more and know I have the best possible seat in the event of a crash.
The cheapest place i could find this was kiddiecare.com

RE: isofix RS4 child seat
recaro Baby carrier is 170 here
http://www.twoleftfeet.co.uk/acatalog/R ... ilver.html
for nine months on:
http://www.twoleftfeet.co.uk/acatalog/R ... Black.html
the seat is 144 quid for the isofix variant, recaro also do a non isofix variant that can be used in non isofix cars for 129 and you can buy a seperate 75 pound isofix base adapter.
seat is adjustable as your child grows, i have the previous variant with inbuild speakers (no pic afraid, the wife has got it currently).
TBH they look the business in the RS4, they are black and silver alcantara which my wife moaned about initially because she thought it would be a pain to keep clean, but hte cover came off and is washable and my daughter loves the recaro seat. it really holds her in place well witht he side bolsters and TBH with the level of engineering recaro put into these seats compared to britax et al they are well worth the money and it complements the RS4 recaros perfectly.

Agree with pippyrips.
I have two Britax Duo Plus Isofix in the back of my Avant - purely on the basis of a Which? recommendation. Interestingly, Audi sell this same seat (re-branded with four rings I think) although they add the traditional stealer mark-up.

I also brough the Britax Duo Plus with Isofix. The problem I find is both my girils take their arms out of the straps. I therefore brought a Porsche/BMW Isofix seat that has the lap bolster. The seat fits in any car with Isofix or seat belt.

Never experienced this myself - stupid question i'm sure but did you adjust the straps from the rear?4wheeldrift wrote:I also brough the Britax Duo Plus with Isofix.
