So there are two ways of looking at the statement......either you get what you pay for or the AWE & Autospeed maifolds are a ripoff

There is a difference the xs power ones need some sort of support there are to many joints to make the bends to the flanges. I bought a pair had some brackets welded to give some extra support, the engine went in yesterday so hopefully in a couple of weeks should beable to let you know how there doing but it will be a matter of time to see what actually happens

i suspect it is more that the scrap metal used to make these has a much lower melting point than steel, and can not cope with the egt's. suppose we will find out soon

Actually Jeff, I think both of those statements have a lot of truth. We should also add that
MRC's are 1200 with CC. I suspect the listed prices for AWE and Autospeed don't include
carriage, duty and VAT. AWE certainly look very overpriced to me. Someone on here has
a set of Autospeed manis - perhaps they can comment on the quality. I would be more
concerned with the metallurgy of these things rather than how nice the welds look, do they fit properly etc.

you beat me to them

I was going to get a set to show how they crack - if I get the next set I will show how long they last.

The AWE have a particularly bad reputation for cracking.

so you can get a set from AWE for £1470 that will crack, or you can get xspower set for £50 that might also crack...... hmmmmm hard choice

Sorry Doug.... I thought i would just get a set to see how bad or ok these really are.

I'm not sure if i'm going to use them... I'm going to get my uncle (metal worker and welder) to check it over. I might do some testing on them.... Off the car, heat, pressure and flexiabilaty. I may just use it for measurements to make my own manifold.
