IMO It's not the wrong time to buy the car if you have a need for it and are going to enjoy it. The B7 is unlikely to retain the charismatic look of the RS2 and so when the new RS4 arrives (to follow the E92 M3 CSL), clearly that will dent residuals so a £35k car (a bit like the M3 CSL) a year from now is looking realistic. Great buy at that price.

Gareth???

In a year £35k will still be the bottom of the market and there will be good (and very bad) reasons for a B7 RS4 being at that level.

We always prefer to recommend that clients buy to condition, provenance and then budget with cars like these. Anyone can buy a "cheap" car, but buying a good value one-indicative of the breed- is far more difficult.

The RS2 always had the Porsche brand "halo effect" to support the values on what was-in some cases-not a very good car, especially by modern standards. The B5 RS4 always had limited production on its side but now it is so difficult to find one that hasn't be abused/tuned to within an inch of it's life!!

The B7 RS4 is driving, not collecting!!! 8)

So the TT came early-or is it a loaner? Yes, you are buying the RS4 at the right time-hence the reason I bought one too!!!
The TT is the one we ordered from the factory (Brilliant Red with 19" RS4 style wheels), so I look forward to collecting that tomorrow.

I am not convinced by the new A4 (have you seen how BIG it is?), and even tried to convince myself to go for an S5 rather than the RS4 (but it was far too compromised dynamically). I am sure the RS4 will remain in demand for some time to come, particularly since the E92 M3 is making it look good at the moment.

New rs4 is said to come in 2010/2011, so a lot more time to go. And as Doctor D said, rs4 looks really good at the moment because everyone expected the new m3 would be a lot better but it obviously isn't the case.

Cheers

To clarify John.

I meant for the early '055/'06 plate cars, not anything from this year 8)

Following on from me hijacking other threads, here is another picture of my new RS4 Avant along with the TT we picked up last weekend. I will try and take a few proper ones if its sunny tomorrow.
