The B7 is unlikely to retain the charismatic look of the RS2 and so when the new RS4 arrives (to follow the E92 M3 CSL), clearly that will dent residuals so a £35k car (a bit like the M3 CSL) a year from now is looking realistic. Great buy at that price.DoctorD wrote:..... are we buying these RS4s at the right time, or with the new (bloated) A4 arriving next year will we see B7s looking a little 'old hat'?
Gareth???
In a year £35k will still be the bottom of the market and there will be good (and very bad) reasons for a B7 RS4 being at that level.
We always prefer to recommend that clients buy to condition, provenance and then budget with cars like these. Anyone can buy a "cheap" car, but buying a good value one-indicative of the breed- is far more difficult.
The RS2 always had the Porsche brand "halo effect" to support the values on what was-in some cases-not a very good car, especially by modern standards. The B5 RS4 always had limited production on its side but now it is so difficult to find one that hasn't be abused/tuned to within an inch of it's life!!
The B7 RS4 is driving, not collecting!!!
