There is nothing to stop you taking £20K cover on a £50K car....you would have to do something very major not to be able to fix it for £20K. I'll post the details when I have them.

As you are bringing some RS246 products along to buy at the ring, are you going to be wanting Pounds or Euros - just trying to plan ahead and pounds may well be more of a challenge to get in Germany if I don't have enough with me!
Oh, and we are all getting very excited here now - not long

and this doesn't cover anyone else you might tangle with?
Worse case, you hit an F50, bounce of the armco and then wipe out a Lambo and a few bikers.
Where do you stand then?
Seriously, what happens?
Are you liable for personal injuries aswell?
Is there a caveat for others to say "motorsport etc etc" or are you fully liable?

OK...
If, like most people, your policy excludes the Ring then you have no cover of any description. Since it is, legally, a public road if you are involved in an accident which has 3rd party damage you will be liable for the full amount, including costs.
However there is a case to be made that your policy cannot excluded public roads if you are covered for the rest of German.....you would need to pursue your insurance company for the 3rd party damages as this is UK Road Traffic act minimum legal requirement. Be an interesting test case.

I think all test cases where you could be liable for costs it will take the rest opf your life to pay are interesting!
Take reasonable cuation re. insurance, recovery and driving and HAVE FUN!

I have been looking and my policy does not exclude the ring specifically, I dont want to go making too may noises as they can issue an endorsment confirming an exclusion at anytime.. If you were taking a bus of tourists around you would likely be insured?? you were not racing, you were not timing anything, you were not taking part in any motorsport activity, its a public toll road that has become somewhat of a tourist attraction...

I started a thread on the Ringers Form about ADAC and recovery and there still seems to be some confusion??
