RS6 DMS remap??
West Tuning. A nice long chat through the options when I rang is exactly the sort of thing I wanted - no hard sell just a guy who clearly knows his onions.
So, the tax disk for my car has been procured (previous owner hadn't cashed it in yet so I'm paying him for it) and it's insured from tomorrow so short of acts of God or serious illness I'll be collecting it sometime within the next 24 hours, hence I will do all I can to make the meet. Is anyone going equipped with a Milltek cat-back as I'd like to hear one so I can decide if I'm adding it to my booking for the 10th?

Yeah but, no but, yeah but DMS remappy thing is 1400 pounds plus VAT!!!! I checked....Oh my god wot have I done????Fen wrote:As I haven't quite taken delivery of my car yet I'm looking at chipping - well you have to, don't you?
DMS always get good reviews everywhere, but they come in at well over £2k for the map only (based on £1,850+VAT suggested above). That's within £300 or so of what AmD want for stage 2 which includes the Milltek cat-back. Is DMS that much better, or do they do more than a remap for the money?
Based on SEAT experience (I had the first customer Revo Ibiza TDI Sport just before Revo broke away from APR - those were the days eh, Shaggy?) I would have gone Revo, but TBH they aren't much cheaper than AmD stage 1 and AmD do the tranny as well, plus I'm drawn to the before and after plots as it will confirm my car is a good-un (having bought the first one I looked at so not really knowing if it feels "right"). Also what about QST?
Sorry to dilute the thread, but I'm interested in current experience of various tuners as I want to get it right first time. I'm leaning toward AmD just now, possibly straight to the Stage 2 - I bet the Milltek sounds nice?
Lastly if I come to the meet (assuming I have the car by then...) and get the Revo trial is that likely to upset the installation of a competitor's remap later if I decide to go with someone else?

I have just had my car re - remapped at West Tuning, and am very pleased with it. Ray is a very nice bloke who is very tactful with regards to other tuners.... i think there is nothing worse than someone who is always running down the oposition, whilst blowing their own trumpet. I think that he has got a very good rolling road with lots of airflow, and an abundance of knowledge about remapping ecu's etc. he does lots of work with race/touring cars etc.
He seems very thorough in what he does, and i will not hesitate to use him again.
