18" to 19" wheels on B6 S4

Post by Burnham » Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:31 pm

Hello all

Does anyone know the weight of the below 19" wheels compared to the standard 18" Avus S4(B6) wheels? I've been thinking about replacing the standard ones, but am concerned they wont be the correct offset etc. ET(?) on the standard Avus is 45mm whereas the 19" are 35mm (I think) ...will this make a difference? Is it possible to just swap them over or is there more to it than that?

Tyres are 235/35/19, current are 235/40/18 so very little differnce to rolling radius/speedo reading.

Any thoughts?

If the ET is 35 and the wheels are 8" wide, same as the Avus wheels then the new wheels will sit out 10mm more in the arch and that's not a bad thing as they sit in a lot.

Only thing that I'd be worried about is what those wheels will do for the look of the car.

Cheers I-Want,

I had no idea what ET was, so they would certainly fill the arches then. I was not looking at changing, but a friend has these on his Passat (!!) and they look really wrong, he was offering me the set with rubber at £500...

I see your point though, I'm a little concerned that they will look wrong on the S4. I cant find any details on the weight of them either. Maybe I'll pass on these, I'd really love a set of 19" Avus to keep the stock look.

Never seen 19" Avus...? If you find any (reps?), let us know!
