By the way re the Impreza, it depends very much on what model. The early shape ones had a kerb weight of about 1235 kg (ish), so if it is a UK one at approx 210hp then the bhp per tonne is 170.... if it is a 275bhp ish WRX or STI(97 on I think) then you can see it is 222 bhp/tonne.... which is quite nice.... Later Subaru's larded up to about 1410kg, so the 225 bhp one drop to 160bhp/tonne.... Fat boy S4 is about 1510kg (Saloon) and with 265bhp has a power to lard ratio of 175bhp/tonne......

Yes I know the in gear times are aided by the superb torque too, but power to weight is the main criteria for 'drag racing'.... Chubby S4 needs 335bhp to equal an early Subaru STI....

As for the Mitsubishi Evo.... they(a 7) are about 10% lighter than the Audi, so you will need 10% more oomph on S4 to stay in the 'frame'

However, I went in my friends 400bhp Evo (yes and just like the 500bhp ++ S4's there are always ones with more power still as his bro is aiming for a 550bhp Evo).. It was quick, but I prefer my S4

Sorry if this wondered off topic, but I was just waffling about why Subaru may be able to walk away from the S4!

Got a problem with the car!

Faulty speedo. lol.

Had the chance to drive home on a private road tonight and went to the obligatory 155. My sat nav showed only 151. I was robbed!

Ran out of road at that point so will have to wait till next time to get the true 155!!

I've noticed that all speedos seem to read a little higher than GPS. I'm not sure if it's done on purpose to keep people's speed down.

Doc! Have your ears been burning??

Search through recent posts; you've been mentioned a few times and speculation has been rife as to your whereabouts ... some wicked wag even suggested that you were a major crack-baron and had been arrested ... !!

I agree on the GPS vs speedo issue, my speedo appears to be 5mph higher than my road angel GPS

Nah. I've been busy learning about keeping marine fish. It's tricky balancing 2 hobbies when you've got an OCD.

I've just had a quick scan of a few messages and spewed some chat, but I don't get time to read them all like I did before.

I'm always at the end of a PM if you miss me......

Sadly not. Best I can hope for this year is a remap and very possibly gutted precats.
