MTM S3

Post by SLC Detailing » Mon Dec 25, 2006 12:28 pm

Been looking about for an S3 and come across a MTM S3 with 350HP. What sprt of performance figures would one fo these give out? Thats a lot of power for a little car but will it be quick enough to see of those top of the range imprezas and EVO 8'S? Got to be quicker than an M3 surely? Thanks

IF YOU CAN FIND ONE THE FIGURES WOULD BE

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 350
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1375
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 258.63
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.01
0 - 100 (Secs) : 10.29
60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.28
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.66
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 110.92

EVO 8 FQ340

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 340
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1400
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 246.76
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.17
0 - 100 (Secs) : 10.73
60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.56
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.83
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 109.35

HOWEVER THE EVO IS STILL A MUCH QUICKER CAR AS IT HAS MORE TOYS TO KEEP YOU ON ALL FOUR WHEELS AND THATS STANDARD NOT CHIPPED!

PLUS THEY DO THE FQ400 WHICH WOULD KILL ANY S3.

FQ400

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 400
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1400
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 290.30
0 - 60 (Secs) : 3.67
0 - 100 (Secs) : 9.19
60 - 100 (Secs) : 5.52
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.27
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 115.56

AND FOR THE CHIPPED VERSION
Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 460
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1400
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 333.85
0 - 60 (Secs) : 3.33
0 - 100 (Secs) : 8.14
60 - 100 (Secs) : 4.81
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 11.87
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 120.76

MIND YOU THEY ARE BLOODY UGLY! THE S3 LOOKS SO MUCH NICER AND MORE REFINED.
:)

Hi, can I ask where did you get those figures from? I find it really hard to believe that a MTM BT S3 can do those times...

I believe the uk mtm s3 is suppose to have 345bhp but the few i've dyno'd against have struggled to meet the claims, nearer 300bhp.My s3 will do a 1/4 at santa pod in 13.6@105mph 0-100 in 12 seconds and has somewhere between 330-360bhp.Interested,drop me a pm.

Yep,still around dunc. Performance Calculator is ok but it doesn't take into account power delivery and gearing.

Are you launching your car with full throttle and what was your 60ft time? With 4-wheel traction and that much power should put you in high 12s. Terminal speed seems a bit on the low side aswell..

Hello,

i have had MTM 345 setup on my car for few years now. And it certainly does not do 0-60 in 4 secs! 5 secs is more like it... I have no equipment to measure this, but MTM says, that S3 with 345 setup will do 0-60 in 5.2 secs which is very close to truth i think.

I did go to dyno earlier with my car, but it lost traction right after 320hp (since the turbo gives "all at once"). Well actually Traction controll (ESP) messed it up...

Anyway ill bet MTM 345 will not do it not even close to 4 secs... MTM has 385 setup also (2.0l) and that propably gets pretty close to that since it has much much more newtons.
