I am off to Derby(re above!) tomorrow having just spoke to a 'north' dealer about a used car, they were so rude with their attitude I took the trouble to complain to Audi UK.

Don't believe it that's why. A brand new good spec RS4 Avant for £50k new, yeah right!
Why not - they are producing loads and there's lots of fast new Audis' out next year to tempt people.

If you ask nicely you can be in a brand new S8 (physical, not your spec) for under £60k or a demo S6 for £45k or less. I'm not saying that an S8/S6 is better but they have a lot of performance for the £ too.

Believe it or not but I was told that there are 8% discounts available. Just be careful how you word it as I understand that the dealers may get smacked bottoms for doing this, however Bo@@ox to them, they need to realise that the customer comes first and why can't we have a good deal to.

In the meantime, HAS ANYONE else had the smae BS story I am being given re the NO engine rubbish?

If you do order and get one please let others know. It is so easy to spread bad news, lets hear some good news.

The plot thickens.

I have had 2 calls from Audi today, the first to tell me my car was actualy built and on its way. WHEYYYYHAYYYY

The second call was to tell me that it wasn't built and to be honest, they couldn't tell me for sure what was happening, or not at least until next Tuesday.

This wasn't the dealer this was Audi UK.

Does anyone have a crystal ball to see where my car is.

HELP!

Hi Varsity

I think I'm the one Simple1 is talking about. Ordered my saloon with a £2k deposit in December 06 - told April/May delivery. Kept being postponed with the usual excuses of build slots, waiting lists, etc etc. When i was informed in August that delivery might not be this year, I wrote a 2 page letter to Jeremy Hicks (MD Audi UK). Next day i had his PA Vicky on the phone who was most helpful. She found out after a bit of research that the dealer hadn't ordered the car until 28th April!! She got me a VIP build slot for October delivery (or so she said) and after a bit of negotiating i got her to put £2.2k worth of tech pack and a track day free of charge as compensation.

It's amazing what happens when you go to the top. I also presume my dealer will have had Audi UK come down on them pretty hard. It's totally inexcusable. What the hell are we paying dealers their profit margins for when they can't even fill out an order form.

Hope this helps - and it SOOOOO is worth the wait!!

...and just to add to that - my main leverage when negotiating compensation, was the fact that my dealer had put 'ASAP' under delivery date on my initial order form. I felt that i could clearly demonstrate that seeing as he hadn't ordered my car until 4.5 months later, this was obviously not 'as soon as possible'. The dealer was therefore in breach of contract and I argued that if I'd had the car in April as promised i could have sol it for a £4k profit - proven by various Audi dealer prices! A gentle threat of legal action to recover my 'loss' due to their cockup is what prompted their offering of the techpack and track day. I think you may have a very similar case - as the RS4 prices are now starting to slip slightly.
I was appaled by the dealers forgetting my order, but generally v impressed with Audi uk's handling of it. You need to go to the top!!

Good luck

All dealers sometimes forget to order cars. On German cars, with the mutiltude of options, mis-orders come in all the time, either the fault of the dealer or the factory.

I am going to play the "I am so sad card" and see what Audi can offer me.

I don't want say exactly what I have asked for or what I get just yet, but please keep all your fingers and toes crossed for me.
