I will have to look into the costing of the turbos - if you are right Rob - then this would up my stage one estimate to £5k +Tax vs. about 3k + Tax for a standard K04 upgrade - which suddenly makes me think twice.

I will still choose the hybrid route though - you dont really loose any torque and always have a roadmap to upgrade past the limit of the K04's if ever wanted/needed.

Back to my question above - how is compression lowered - is it a simple head gasket, or is it a little more tricky. I would look at doing this only in my third stage when uprating the inlet (Manifolds, heads etc).

What do you mean "you dont really lose any torque"?

Compression lowering is a thicker head gasket. You can get one from 034 Motorsport at decent price or get one from GUCCI (sorry I mean MTM ;o)
