What is the approx 0-60 time of your S4 Tip after the grade III upgrade?

About 5 seconds dead but that's only timed by the wife in the back seat with a digital stopwatch. I guess I'll have to get it properly timed some day. Mind you I always have a full sized spare and loads of gear in the boot so I'll have to try it without the excess weight some day (the only time I'll ever be allowed to refer to the missus as excess weight). One noticable difference however is how un-practical the ESP becomes once you get it tuned. Needed new rubber anyway so had the fronts changed but the TC still kept cutting-in on blast-off. You just have to turn it off to get away at full pelt otherwise you get that embarrassing nothing's happening moment when the M5 next to you is leaving you behind. Turn ESP off though and it's up, up and away with just the very bestest V8 roar.

Hi all, first post so be gentle on a little convict battler from Aus.

I've just had wettereaur chip done (TIP also) and am tossing up whether to go full Milltek (res catback and DP's).

I was quite surprised by the difference the chip has made on partial throttle and was wondering did you go straight to stage III or chip first / exhaust first?

Would be intersted in your impressions?

Also I'm interested on a comment you made different valves on TIP DP's and its effect on sound, as the videos / soundclips I have heard of the milltek are of manual transmissions and they sound wicked. Is there much difference, in TIP sound?

Interesting re ESP and TC activation, haven't heard this anywhere else.

Cheers

Stephen

I'm told that the Butterfly valves are different on the Tip version as the gearbox rely's on pressure changes for auto up/downshift. This came from Craig at Wayside Audi who used to work for AMD, he's usually a reliable source of info. Whatever the facts they sound drop-dead gorgeous. Never actually been behind myself (if you catch my drift) but a few mates and colleagues have been and have instantly called on the mobile to say 'God that sounds good'. I don't think I've ever seen a manual version (should go to some meets eh?) so I couldn't give you an impartial view.

Had mine standard for about 12 months or so before tuning, but had it all done at once. Don't think I'd ever had the ESP noticably kick in before Stage III but sure does now. A reassuring sign of money well spent. Easily cured, turn it off - there's mechanical grip to burn.

Thanks for the response Tony, no many B6 S4 with mods in Aus, main source of reference are the US Audi forums where manual transmission is the go.

Tax cheque pending Full Milltek system on its way., price fitted in Aus is 2,360 quid.

Is your system resonated or non resonated?

I think with the DP' s that the resonated will be loud enough? Want a classy V8 sound not sound US muscle car (everyone here has a Monaro of Falcon witth LOUD pipes!!).

Regards

Sounds like a bargain. Non-res. Let me know what you think when they're fitted.
