I've got the ducts coming next week now and the car will be lowered a little so they may be of benifit. I used to own a car years ago that was low and had massive brake fade which I think was linked to the fact that the wheels were very close to the brakes and also that the spoiler on the front was close to the ground.
I personally would rather get extra cooling on the brakes and use standard pads if possible rather than resort to sport pads that are harder on the discs. Just my way of thinking... I could be completely wrong though!
