Fancy a tenner on it Nige? I've witnessed 2 in the last 2 weeks...
Go on ... although I'm not so sure this type of thing is permitted on this forum. For example, how many of us would gamble our money on a twin-turbo'd car - I ask you, you'd have to be completely crazy!!

OK, well fair point Nige, so lets just call it an imaginary tenner then.

But seriously, when I changed my F-pipe and TBB (shineydave did his at the same time), we were surprised how robust the TBBs appeared to be compared to the F-pipe, not to mention that my F-pipe was f***ed and the TBB in good order.

Clive, I saw a video somewhere of the TBB expanding like a balloon with all the boost it was trying to contian (that's why the MTM TBB has a cage around it).

Well so far I have the TBB off and it looks fine. Going to make sure I have some new jubilee clips before I pop the f pipe off, but it looks ok on first inspection...

My experience too Mark - if the F-pipe is split, you wont be able to see until you remove it and prise it apart...

Guys you really ought to be posting this stuff in new threads in the S4 forum, not here.

I believe that the spec of the TBB was improved sometime around 2000, so some earlier cars may have already had a stronger replacement one fitted.

You're absolutely right, David, but you know how these threads develop.

Really need some site rules.

I've striped the car and will post my findings on the B5 S4 forum...

Nige & Clive, Who gets the imaginary tenner if neither of you are right?

With respect Clive, you do not need site rules to know this.
