My Epic Road Trip

Post by HYFR » Sun Aug 07, 2011 9:17 pm

Hi all,

So, T-minus 5 days til me and the missus set off on an epic road trip of a lifetime !

The route will involve either quick stops or overnight stays at the below, and we may stop elsewhere as and when the wind takes us !

London
Calais
Reims
Dijon
Cannes
Nice
Monaco
Bologna
San Marino
Rimini
Bari
Patras
Athens
Kos
Athens
Patras
Lake Garda
Brescia
Stelvio Pass
Davos
Strasbourg
Luxumbourg
Calais
London

phew !

:biggrin3:

It will be 17 days all in ... best part of 4,000 miles.

Vehicle of choice will be an A5 Cabriolet 2.0TDI .... 600 miles to a tank, perfect ! although I might burn my head !

I'll be sure to get lots of photo's and will update this thread as I go

T minus 4 days

Ordered a travel pillow from ebay

Got to get x4 overnight ferries over the trip, totaling the best part of TWO DAYS!

Still aparently there are casinos and night clubs on these ferries!

Arrived at the F1 hotel in Reims

260 miles
44mpg

Cruised at 85mph didn't have to touch a pedal

Audi Sat Nav managed to fcuk up at first attempt

Didn't tell me to come off, so I continued onto a new toll road which isn't on my 2011 built car!

How did the french manage to build a road after Audi built my car!

Bloody french!

Anyhow, lots of UK plates in the car park, for £36 a night it must be the pikeyness in us Brits

Up early tomorrow to drive to Cannes via Dijon for Lunch

Sounds like a fantastic trip - I've done London to Cannes more times than I can remember, but that's just day one for you!
