I've only seen the two flashes behind me once - the camera was on the M4 heading towards Bristol, at a set of roadworks. The speed limit sign said 50, and as usual, I simply lifted off, instead of using the anchors. I passed the sign doing 60. The flash was pretty immediate - the camera was hidden behind the sign.
Technically correct, but a little bit bastardly, really. Fortunately, nothing ever showed up about it, must have "run out of film" or not taken a decent photo.
I also heard nothing about the crash I was involved in. That was lucky, too.
I try not to push my luck, in the general case. I don't be the fastest thing around, and I try not to have a high speed difference to what's around me - if the lane next to me is only doing 30 on the motorway, I won't be doing 70 past them, in case someone pulls out without looking. That sort of thing.
Now, getting up to speed, or pulling out to overtake - those I enjoy.

3 points when I got caught overtaking a couple of slow moving cars on an open 50 road which used to be a 60. Good road conditions, etc. I'd only had the car a week.
Think the copper would have let me off if he'd been on his own, but he had a young attractive special constable in the car and I think he was showing off. Also think he was angry at the fact he couldn't overtake the other cars in his 1.4 astra and it took him a few miles to catch me, despite the fact I was only doing a few miles over the limit once i'd passed the cars.

I got scamera'd doing 79 in a 70 dual-carriageway back in Feb!
More bizzare as I've been 'clean' since 98, and I've had sportbikes & 2 Porsches since then!

My 6 points came from being tailed by the old bill ona dual carriageway at night, about 250 yards back. The could not record my speed over 115mph. The code I have, refers to exceeding the speed limit on a motorway.

Ive been banned through totting up.... almost a decade ago now.... got three points for pulling over at midnight on a monday night and my front wheel was just on the zig zag.... had it been now I would have complained but I didnt at the time..... then had a 35 in a 30 on the bike by a speed gun cops bhind a bush...... the claimed I was "going so fast they had to stay out the way".... hmmmmm..... up to 6,
then a 90 in a 70 on the bike... by an undercover car... fiar cop.... then another 35 in a 40 by another sneaky cop with a gun..... all in quick succession.... 6 month ban..... Currently I have 3 as I was doing 70 in a van on what I thought was a motorway but it was apprently classified as dual carriageway so it was a 60 for vans.... I know some great traffic cops but when I get pulled over they are all total knobbers....
Possibly the most rotton run of luck.... ah well they come off next year....
just dont get me started on the parking one or van one.... I'll go on all day about those......
the 90 in 70..... when I was up in court (as I put my hand up to say i had 12 points) the guy before me got done doing the same 90 in 70 a dual carriageway in a minibus full of kids in rush our on a tuesday...... 4 points 80 quid fine..... I get cought doing the same on a bike designed to do alot more on an empty motorway and get a fine of 180?????? nice to see there is consistency.....
Funnily enough Ive only been done on a 85 bhp bike and a 100bhp car.....and a slow van, yet Ive had 140bhp bikes and close to 400 bhp cars and never had any issues..... Im hoping I've become a better driver...... (or better at being on the look out!)

Currently running on 6, though three come off next month. However (as per post below) am also fighting getting another three in a couple of weeks.
First one was for 36 in a 30 zone on a dry Sunday afternoon with no other traffic around on a dual carriageway.
Next was for 85 down a dual carriageway. Unmarked Police car followed at about 200m behind (again clear and dry) for about 10 miles before they came up behind at a roundabout. Only "relief" was that they commented that I had left the lights at the previous roundabout (where limit was 50 for first 1/4 mile) so fast they couldn't get their electronics set upin time to clock me! That was in my V70R - a car I later sold (you guessed) to a traffic cop!
Latest pending one is probably best left till the legal process has run its course.
It's the totting up that gets me - none of my offences has been anything dangerous or careless - just making quicker progress than the blunt instrument of fixed speed limits permitted.

There was an identical thread in the RS4 forum recently. I think it was Cossymad who had the best horror story IIRC.
A mate of mine recently got 6 points and a £450 fine for 110mph on the M6 Toll Road. He's gutted because he's now selling his V6 Golf 4Motion because he says it's too tempting to go fast in it. Some people have no self control. God knows what he'd be like with a 'proper' car.

I was alarmed of hearing a guy getting jailed for doing 140.... that could have been me.... its very easy to hit 140 in "proper cars". Although I suspect the person in question may have been doing more than simply bombing it down a motorway..... like fleeing from an armed robbery

Last time I was pulled was 1992....! Cost my £480 as I remember, 88-94 in a 60.

As i said earlier I'm back to nil point's but wind it back about 10 - 15 years and I was sat on 9 points, 6 of which were from 110 on a certain orbital motorway / car park earlyish one sunday morning returning from a weeks holiday in France on a CBR600 .............. where the speeds were a tad higher although the signs out there did say 120 .................... kmh
