Right, now i've just noticed that the lamp comes on but after say 20secs it switches off and the DIS shows the bulb with cross through it!! Any ideas? Sound familiar to anyone?

It should be a D2S.

try www.autolamps-online.com

By far the cheapest place I could find when I wanted kit.
Make sure you determine shich colour temperature bulb you need. It should be a 4300K one, but it is best to check else your lights will look different colours...

Try swapping the bulbs over to start with (left to right). If the fault goes with the bulb, it is the bulb.
Try vagparts or eurocarparts for the ballast.

Cheers,
John.

If it's the ballast, I have a spare that I might part with if you need one.

probably ballast.

swap bulbs from left to right and see if fault moves. If it doesnt then you got a knackered ballast.

if it does move, then knackered bulb.
