Forum scammers

Post by stevo55 » Sun Jun 16, 2024 3:20 pm

Shouldn’t be new news to members but be aware of being approached by random ‘members’ via PM offering you items that you have placed a ‘looking to buy’ post up in the classifieds.
I’ve had a few PM’s from people with zero posts and zero forum history telling me to email another person who allegedly has that item for sale.
I was recently stung on a FB forum to buy an item for my C5 RS6 so this is just yet another way for scammers to get their hook into you.
My advice is to check the senders forum history first and if you suspect a scammer don’t engage. Having zero posts is a good indicator for one.
