Is there any way of getting temporary tax on a SORN’d car? My runaround is an estate and I took it off the road whilst we’re in lockdown. Want to use it to pick up office stuff so basically need half a day to a full day. Temp insurance I know about but what about tax?
Any ideas?

6 months or 12 months.

So have to pay for 6 months then cancel it after a day? That’s gash but if that’s the only way.

You'll have to pay a minimum 1 months worth of road tax basically. That's the way it works.

Worth losing all that money for a few hours need. Will have to look at other options.
This is when someone says ‘should have gone for the RS6 after all!’

I’d just hire a van.
Cheap enough and no hassle.

Yep one month. Set up a direct debit pay monthly option then cancel direct debit when done.

Managed to get everything I needed into the RS.
Bit of a faff getting a swivel chair into the car (passenger seat all the way down and carefully manoeuvred it in and used bubble wrap to protect the bits) but all sorted now. If it had been a Sportback would t have been an issue but hey ho better than paying 1 month tax for a few hours requirement.
