Chris Harris on Topgear.....

Post by dougle_turbo » Mon Mar 27, 2017 7:32 pm

Is it just me or is Chris Harris ruining Topgear at the moment with his over acting?

Its like he just needs to turn it down a couple of notches. He comes across as a knob in the 'Star in a reasonably fast car' segment.

Knob in the star in a car. For the rest I would now say TG better than GT IMHO

Totally agree with both of the above. I'm sure he's ok, he just needs to be himself.

Agreed. Matt is even coming across well. I think give them some time and they'll get better and better. Watch an early Top Gear and the three of them were terrible too. They need to spend more time together presenting. It'll come.

I bet they'd be brilliant live, Chris and Matt seem to have good chemistry already. The star I the car acting is shocking though, they should drop that imo.

I agree, I think it will come. Matt is really good, and him and Chris obviously get along. The end of the last episode in Oman though.....I couldn't stop cringing.

That said I do think the show is good overall. It's pretty awesome having two great car shows running at the same time(ish). I'm glad Clarkson punched that bloke!

I also agree with what's been said already about Chris and Matt, they will only get better at it I think.

At least I am able to watch the show now, I couldn't bear to watch what it was in the latter years with Clarkson(who I actually enjoy) May, and that irritating little nyaff Hamster. As for the Chris Evans era, well the less said the better. However for me there was an element of the old Top Gear 'creeping' back in this week with that rubbish sequence with the wee cars chasing each other around; just crap really, lets hope there's no more like that as I want to like the show.
Current;
Porsche 997.1 GT3RS. Pure Orange, ceramics, etc, Sharkwerks exhaust
BMW 2002 restomod; Turbo body kit, S14 M3 Evo engine and lots more
Audi Q3 Black edition Quattro

Previously enjoyed;
Ibis White B7 RS4 Avant : TTS Supercharged 615ps/614 nm
Subaru Impreza 22B
Noble M400
TVR 400SE
Lotus Sunbeam Avon

Monkey Harris is the only one who knows about cars, but needs to calm down and I think he would be a good presenter. They should leave it to the Stig to show people around the track.
Rory Read, who on earth is he and what does he know about cars or anything else for that matter. He comes across as insincere.

Matt the Blanc is acting all of the time and has no idea about cars either. What is an American doing presenting this British show. His review of the new Aston Martin was unsophisticated. He has no idea about Aston Martins and the British bruisers they once were.

This week’s race in Dubai was pants and the Golf club sport around the ring was beyond cringe worthy. I'm sorry but a Golf Club sport would not beat a Porsche GT3 RS around the ring or many of the others cars too. Rory’s commentary was completely inexperienced.

The 3 presenters do not gel and it’s not getting better.

The format and the presenters need to change, Top Gear is dying.

I reckon 'Joey' is there to save production budget, when broadcast in the deUnited State of Trump it'll be a famous Amercan with two other blokes. Saves you making two different Top Gear.

However, perhaps the segment should be 'nobing a star in the back seat of a car' then Chris could really show off his acting talents, brown socks, whilst 'Joey' plays a 70's riff on an electric car. Would have less dicks in it than the previous Top Gear. ;)
