Hi all

Not sure if this is the correct area to post this but...

New to this forum and i am looking into making the financial mistake of purchasing an RS6 C5.

Anyway a came across this car. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232250249405? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Seems to have high miles but has had timing belts changed etc and gearbox overhaul.

Anyway i was wondering if anyone knows if it belonged to anyone on this forum.
Sorry i don't have a reg for it yet to search. Thought it having a set of Gallardo wheels on might ring bells with someone as cant be too many with these wheels.

Thanks in advance

Dave

I know it.
I know who had it. Who's done the maps for it and who's done the gearbox on it. The owner from Wembley area is the the owner of the garage that rebuild the box. The maps were getting the car in to 550bhp area and it was brutal comparing to my standard RS

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Aut ... -0.2981631

Box was definitely rebuilt properly and it was in really great condition except the car started to have issues with the engine and he got rid of the car.
It was taking a lot of oil and smoking quite a lot.
Don't know if the engine was fixed by the last owner. You would have to go and start the car on cold engine and see if it smokes. My M8 said if it smokes then there was nothing done to the engine and you better forget about buying the car.
So to summarize - I doubt there was anything done with the engine - it wouldn't go for sale so cheap. AFAIK - you can pass on the car

Apparently its had turbos replaced at some point, this maybe had something to do with excess oil usage and smoking.

If those turbos were done in last 18 months then that might be it. But I would still go personally and do a cold startup engine check before anything. With any signs of blue smoke - let it go. If it's running nice and clean(on cold engine) then it would be worth considering. It was smoking really badly specially on cold.

OK so these are the dates of major "things" done to the car
The Turbo's were replaced in June 2015
The Transmission was overhauled in June 2015
The Last Timing and water pump change was July 2016

So when was it last seen smoking?

That doesn't quite add up - my M8 still had the car in 2015 and the gearbox was actually done in October 2015. And DEFO no work was done on the engine/turbo in 2015.
The Timing belt and water pump is the last thing he's done before selling the car.
Looks like a lot of BULLSH...T
It was smoking when he was selling the car last year - that was the main reason he sold it.
Looks like you can definitely forget about this one as the seller lying.

You can still check with kwalker if his toy is gone

Cheers V!per
I have asked for any proof/receipts for the work done just to be 100%

Looks like kwalker has just taken deposit on his.

I was looking to chop my JDM impreza in for it anyway thats why i was going through a second hand dealer.
Looks like i may end up putting it up private.

Just noticed its says on another advert for the car "Replacement turbos 8000 miles ago.
Going by the MOT history that could potentially put turbo replacement back in 2014.

2014 - that would have to be the previous owner - as in before my M8.
But that would mean there is something else wrong with the engine or when they have replaced the turbos someone fudged something as it was smoking very badly in 2016

This whole advert and details don't stick together

Well what do you know i spoke to the guy that used to own this car.
Anyway "V!per" its all as you say. He said he sold it as it was starting to smoke and use oil. The Turbos were replaced back in June 2015 and it had apparently a very good gearbox rebuild.
So the smoking must be something other than the turbos.
