Warning to Audi owners across Warwickshire

Warwickshire Police wrote:Warning to Audi owners across Warwickshire

Please be aware that over recent days, there have been several burglaries across Warwickshire where the thieves have targeted houses where there are new Audi vehicles visible.

The offenders have broken into the house and searched for the keys to the vehicles.

Police advice is the keep the keys to Audi, and other high powered vehicles, out of sight but to leave them downstairs so that the thieves have no reason to go upstairs where residents may be sleeping.

Audi owners are also advised to give consideration to increasing the security measures on their vehicles with trackers and vehicle immobilisers.

An RS3 was taken in a robbery a couple of miles from me the other day. Owner was forced to start the car under threat of violence after they broke into his house. Bad news.

I leave my high powered Audi on the drive which is blocked in by my wife's old slow wobbly A4 cab diesel ... the ultimate deterrent !

Yikes. They are certainly brazen. The footage of that SQ5 being carjacked a week or two back is disturbing

It is a worry! My keys are in an RF shielded wallet in a safe. As soon as they get in the house my alarm will go nuts, I'll wake up and then the games begin as far as I'm concerned

I'm based in Warwickshire, and I've just bought a B7 RS4 so this is a worry to be honest.

I've got a big dog to ward off burglars, but once they're in they can have the keys - I'm not risking getting hurt over a car. That's what insurance is for. I'm going to beef up security at home though, so it'll be difficult to get in at least.

Sad to say it, but in my opinion you simply cannot own anything thats slightly prestige now and leave it out in view at night. Why bother? Whats the point?

Obviously we have right to own whatever we choose and one shouldn't succumb to the scum out there, but I simply couldn't sleep at night like that and wouldn't want it ruining my life.

Funnily enough I saw a post on Face Book the other night, and it was of a dealer boasting about the first sale of the year of 100k RS6 in solar orange, ceramics the effin bollox. The wanky sales manager shaking the hand of the proud new owner with his wife and small child - his name plastered all over the post and the name of the city they live in.

Now I'm no Sherlock Holmes but a quick bit of LinkedIn and Google serching, using the assumption that a fella who can afford something like that has his own business, I found his business name, where it was based and a qualifying picture of him (along with other social media of his car loving antics) - further investigation using access to publicly available information on his business reveals a home address etc. What the fcuk is wrong with people??!!
