Right I have had my RS4 b7 for 3 years and it's on 70 thousand miles I'm looking at getting it carbon cleaned and a stage 2 remap it already has miltek cat back on it but I'm looking at hi flow cats and any other ad ons/mods to get as much bhp as I can without supercharging it I'm looking for your opinions and work/mods what you've had done on yours and what figures you've achieved and so far it's amd or mrc I'm thinking of taking the car to thanks in advance for any advise or info regards ben

If you did a search on the forum you will see 99.9% of people will point towards MRC.

As above, MRC are clear winners in this category.

Well iv heard some good reviews about mrc but then amd are near on a £1000 cheaper for everything I'm wanting to get done for the same work so I'm just trying to gauge opinions and if 1 is better than the other for getting better results/figures and some feedback on figures guys on here have had from any of the above tuners?

Pretty sure there are numerous examples of people having work done at amd cos it's cheaper then end up paying MRC to do it afterwards, so actually it is cheaper to go to MRC in the first place.

As above - MRC all the way.

AMD have messed up a few things for me, won't list them again.

You'd still end up with a better map than AMD! I had a stage 1 map done and it wasn't running right at all. They didn't even do it on the dyno supposedly because the newly fitted 3 year warranty box was too fragile. I'm convinced it was just to hide how poor the results were!

This obv only applies to the C5 RS6, B7's benefit from mapping more with responsiveness and bottom end torque, you might get a tiny bit more on the top end but it's naturally aspirated and already pretty well tuned.

Anyway, I took it to the Dougster who did the health check and baseline run on the dyno. No power until 4500 rpm and then boost was up and down like a yoyo, managed 480hp and 670nm but it was a mega narrow power band. After flashing mrc's stage 1 map onto it, suddenly it was making 100hp more at 3000rpm, smooooooooth boost, and 521ps/761nm. Then he tweaked it after i fit the milltek and now it's up to 533ps/809nm. The man is a wizard at custom mapping. The thing is it's not all about numbers, if an engine's running 'correctly' that's when you get the most out of it. My results were all using LESS boost than the AMD map which was likely not doing the engine any favours.

I had a very poor experience and won't ever be going back. The map was terrible and it looked like they'd really rushed re-assembling it as there was loads of things loose or not assembled right. That was 2 years ago, hopefully they've improved.

You're right. You're also missing the point.
