Hey Folks

Im going to plan a trip to the ring later in the year, ive been reading that the ring is now classes as a german one way toll road with no restrictions if thats the case I'm guessing my teenage son can come along with me as a passenger I looked at this a while ago and i saw somewhere passengers must be 16yrs or older is that still the case or is that only when its run as a track day

I don't remember there being any limitations. It was always a public one way derestricted toll road. There are actually some bits are speed limited.

But... It used to be government owned and that changed last year. Supposedly there are some changes in May. So may want to go before then.

I'd also like to know what the changes are going to be in May as we're planning on going again this year.

apparently they are changing the cost to a time based model rather than a 'per lap' model

so you pay for time on track not number of laps

I can beat that! When we went we turned a corner and there was a heavily pregnant woman waving us down/warning us and her car (a <beep> mk4 Astra!) was facing the wrong way with no front end on it!
Now that's bad!!!

I hope that's all it is! That would be pretty good if all it is.

Worst I had was coming out by adenu right at the end of a day to find a coach, a massive coach, doing about 12 mph right on my line... To make it worse it had a back window full of people waving and taking pictures!!! I missed the rear left by an inch or two at probably 50 still!

Made me learn I need to gain time in the bits I can see and not in the bits I can't :) if it had been a crashed car Id have been in a bad way :)

No changes are confirmed
It's all internet rumour
It's a public road on TF days so no problem with pax just understand your insurance status and accept the risk

By the sounds of it you need to do abit more research and understanding of the ring

TF are public driving days - German traffic law applies

A closed track day is just that and each TDO will have their own rules related to their insurance and general policy
