Well bought a set of dectanes of a fellow member on here a few months ago!
Only fitted them now to find no reversing lights
Same fault on both units so a common fault.
Fed current to both lamps independantly and nothing,,,,,,,,,faulty lamps
Thanks Alex..........you know who you are

You tried turning them around. Most leds I've used only work one way (as most diodes do).

I'm pretty sure the reverse lights are normal bulbs

Rs4 dectanes are halogen reverse lights like hydro has pointed out, if you are saying they are led is be checking the bulbs

I have dectanes in my saloon and they are not (certainly in mine) LED in the reverse holder - these are incandescent.

What exact model dectanes are they??? Pictures?

I used Trups DRL kit for my reverse which involves the canceller and if course his LED..,

^ This. Dectane's are normal bulbs in the reverse light. You need to use your existing bulb. The rest of the unit is sealed except the reverse bulb area.

I will wager you've not even got bulbs in there...

I have the same issue with mine and as everyone has said the reverse lights are standard bulbs, however changing mine does not sort the issue. It's on one side only, so I swapped the bulbs and the fault didn't move with the bulb so must be the unit. Checked with a multimeter and the voltage as the same on both sides. Sounds like you are having the same fault. Not got to the bottom of it yet, but doing my head in. :bash:

If you have the same voltage (and I assume correct voltage) both sides when you tested with a meter then surely it must be a connection problem ie the bulb not making good contact with the holder.

No posts on this from the OP for 2 weeks - I wonder if he has realised that his rant was misplaced as he had no bulbs in there......
