Friend of mine had his 13 Plate A6 3.0tdi Quattro stolen over the weekend
He parked the car up in a public car park as he's doing this he notices 3 guys watching him from another car, when he gets out the guys get out and head towards him thinking he's gonna get turned over for his keys he makes a sharp exit into some shops - comes back to find his car gone even though he's still got the keys !!!!!
The car park was covered with High Def CCTV footage so everything's recorded
A6 was fitted with keyless entry

Shocking how they can take them so easily

Keyless entry is a big problem as its so easy to get around - most high end cars have this and yet the manufacturers refuse to accept there is an issue!!

Was it just driven away Roy?

Yep seems like it, the cars not been seen since they must have snatched the signal or something when he's walking away How easy is that !

Sorry guys, grabbing the signal is probably not what was done. I know a chap working with the Police on this and he says it is easy to get around keyless entry and no keys, codes or other info is needed as some basic tools and electronic equipment is all that is needed (all available at you local Maplins).

He says LR and BMW are suggesting some improvements but that's all. Insurance payout will be difficult as they say these cars cannot be stolen but at last there is some recognition that they can and are!!

No a guy drove it off the car park round the corner parked up (still on CCTV) then they all got in and drove off

Found out some more this morning after speaking to his son.
The car wasn't fitted with keyless entry but this doesn't matter because they can nick either type.
Guy parks car and presses fob to lock car but the signal has been jammed so the car remains open.
Scum jump in the car then reprogram their own key, start the car and drive off.

Make sure when you lock your car it is locked

Now i'm even more concerned.

Back up to Defcon 3 at our house

Apparently the car had cut out on them
