That'll be me then lol...
I thought I'd give the winters a proper work out so came to a standstill half way up, gave her WOT & was most impressed when I accelerated up the slope with minimal ESC intervention :biggrin3:

Old thread I know, but both these (PF S8 on 17's and Focus on 15's) have winter wheels/tyres on:

And here are the old and new S8's, though only the new one has the winter setup in this picture.
The PF was reverted to summer 18's for sale and it's 17" winters don't fit over the FL brakes so were "traded" - that's the "didn't work out" element.
The old S8 has now gone to the Audi graveyard in the sky and the new one has lovely FE 9-spoke 20's on for summer.

PS: as noted on other forums (but not here yet) I have a full set of 5 (five) genuine refurbished D2 S8 pre-facelift 18" Avus wheels for sale (without tyres).
I'll be putting details up here soon (not in a rush) but if anyone is interested please PM me. Four centre caps in excellent condition included.
These are the type on the old (grey) S8 in the daylight picture, though NOT that actual set of wheels.

You're getting close to being called a wheel whore.
Ever considered plonking an RS6 motor in one?

That sort of misses the point of an old S8 TBH. 8)

Though I did spend some time driving an Audi-supplied C7 RS6 (latest 4.0TFSi type) test car last weekend (and a D4 S8 among others) and it's just downright brutal in comparison. Especially with all the options set to "11". :FIREdevil:
Does make some interesting noises though when you really push it!

I drove both at Millbrook, the D4 was quick but it felt like the steering wheel was connected to a completely different car! C7 was impressive, even during the limited time I was in it, LC was fun though.
There was a guy that supercharged a D2 over in Australia, he completed the project but had fueling issues, I'm not sure of the outcome.
There was also a hint that Tozo did a BCY swap into a D2 complete with a manual transmission, I cannot remember if it was ever rule 1'd though. Someone needs to do it, full debadge, perfect sleeper. Might even handle better that a C5 too.
