Good stuff, look forward to seeing the results. Shame no before RR.

When was the last carbon clean before this? Has it had a RR in the recent past?

Come to think of it, what better advertising would there be for the Engine Carbon Clean, than if they organised to take a coked up RS4 and do before and after rolling road runs and post the results online?

I'd suggest they would be able to find a willing participant on here that lives near a rolling road?

All done :thumb:

Wish i had done a before run , as i could have done a run yesterday. My Car is definitely under powered compared to the M3 and A5 3.0 sport in the fleet.

A quick test drive in terrible weather sadly so difficult to tell yet....

Rolling road is at 3pm today :thumb:

Looking forward to seeing the dyno results this afternoon!

I've actually found a 4WD rolling road 30min from home, near Gatwick.

http://www.rollingroadsussex.co.uk/Power-Run.html

I've spoken to them and they are game for before/after power runs on their dyno for my RS4 and Mk5 Golf GTi.

I've also put in a call to the guys at EngineCarbonClean proposing that we do these before and after comparisons and I'm happy to post up my findings on here and on the Mk5 GTi forum, and I can do a vid I'll put up on YouTube.

That ought to be great advertising for them - waiting for a call back.

Sorted.

9am 7th Nov

http://www.rollingroadsussex.co.uk/

I will be meeting Gary from EngineCarbonClean there. Both he and the rolling road guys have said they have capacity to do a couple more cars at the same time if anyone wants to join us? The RR is costing £165 in total for my 2 cars, but they said they can drop the price if there are more cars there. The clean itself £180 for both cars.

Looking forward to this!

^ won't the carbon clean guys pay for / contribute to the rolling road cost in order to use the results as marketing? Sounds expensive output for you to prove their product works. Just saying, surely there's a discussion to be had?

Couldn't agree more...I've had the discussion, awaiting their decision.

Good work right there!!!
I'd join you but I'm the other end of the country unfortunately.
Will be interesting to see the outcome.
Cheers

We've already got an S5 4.2 V8 lined up for the before/after at Surrey Rolling Road on Monday November 9th.

Mk 5 GTi has been done here:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 9560219459

For the dyno results need to make sure the temps are the same before and after as part of the cleaning strategy is getting the car hot. When we did the dyno run on the Mk5 GTI straight after the clean the power was slightly down and torque only slightly up due to temps being 5° up on the 'before' runs. Once it had cooled down to just 1.5° higher we did the runs above. Would have been nice to get the temps identical as would have seen even better results, but the above with the obvious sound and throttle response difference was enough.

110% Happy with that , car feel smother , more eager , sounds a lot louder & 386bhp is about the highest i could have expected to see.

So big thumbs up from me :beerchug:
