B7 RS4 Has Become Sluggish

Post by A300 » Wed Dec 18, 2019 12:33 pm

Hi All
I have a 2007 B7 RS4 Avant,Sprint Blue with 45k Miles, I have the car about 4 months but have noticed especially when cold between 2000-4000 the car is holding back and get the odd splutter here and there, the car is in the Netherlands and I am in contact with a place that specialise in walnut blasting and injector cleaning these particular engines. They want 850 euros for the cleaning, smoothing the intakes and 450euros for the injector cleaning and flow testing. Is this expensive or the going rate?

I have no garage here in the Netherlands otherwise I would attack this job myself as I am an Aircraft Engineer by trade and worked on cars most my life.

My question is will this solve the problem?
This will be the first Carbon Clean for the car. I have been driving the car quite slow as my wife is pregnant and can't handle any speed at the moment and drove the car from Ireland to NL also quite slow.

I did the throttle reset that didn't help. I fitted a Resonated Cat Back Miltek before this issue started.
(On a side note I have the Miltek de-cat pipes but was afraid to fit incase it was too loud and didn't want to be swapping them out for the MOT every time your thoughts on this would be appreciated, is there a sports cat option that would pass the MOT?)

If I go ahead with the Carbon Clean is it the PCV that can be relocated for the ease of the little filter change?

Thanks attached is a pic of the car

Karl

You may want to de flap it while you’re there, however that’ll require a remap. new black white one way valve, new Throttle body and inlet gaskets. Injectors don’t cost that much to service btw! It’s usually around £20-£25 per injector in the U.K.
