you didn't buy anything from them either?

Ffs take it to a good garage and spend £70 to get it hunter alligned..job done and move on!!!! The majority is you wrong in what you think....take the cash hit and just enjoy the car...if you worried about the 70 bucks your in for a shock coz thats probably the cheapest fix you gunna get unless you want new dust caps...

Oh it isn't closed.

However, your admission is duly noted, not many people will own up to being wrong. Just be happy that now you know you're options and that you might serve as an example to other people like you.

One question though; did the previous own really sell the car because they couldn't get on with the ride?

This is bonkers. :bash:

Firstly - With regards to any warranty, this seems to be a moot point. As I was trying to establish on your other thread, you haven't made it clear why you think the coilovers are actually faulty and warranty relevant? Are they leaking? Springs broken? Knocking or making noises? Besides, the warranty would be with the last owner, not yourself (as is usual, unless the product is sold specifically with a warranty that is for the lifetime of the product and transferable to other owners.)

Secondly - The beauty of coilovers is that they're adjustable. You can set them how you like. Now, the H&R coilovers for the B7 RS4 seem to be height only adjustment. So, it's not like JKM have any control of damping settings anyway. They would have set the height as the last owner requested. You might get a slightly more compliant ride by raising the coilovers. If you want JKM to try that for you, of course you would pay for that. I paid a garage to adjust my KW's how I wanted them after I bought my car which was set a little too low and firm for my liking (adjustable damping on KW V3's).

However, if you still find the ride too harsh, that's the fault of the product, not the fitter.

Here's a handy height guide by US tuner Stasis. The ride heights correspond to ground to arch, on stock 255/35/19 tyres. Use as a rough guide to establish if you're particularly low:

Conservative Street Setup
Between 1/16 and 1/32 TOE IN front and 1/32 TOE IN rear
Ride height at 25.875” (65.7cm) front and 26.000” (66.0cm) rear
(–1.0 camber front)

Aggressive Street Setup
Between 1/32 and 0 TOE IN on all four corners
Ride height at 25.500” (64.8cm) front and 25.625” (65.1cm) rear
(–1.5 to –1.75 camber front)

Track Setup
Between 0 and 1/16 TOE OUT on all four corners
Ride height at 25.000” (63.5cm) front and 25.250” (64.1cm) rear
(–2.0 to –3.0 camber front)

I work in the motor trade and know for a fact that a main dealer won't cover a wheel alignment adjustment to a brand new car after a week so why would a garage that not seen a car for almost 9 months carry out these adjustments for free!!
