How do they know you've not fiddled with the settings and that's why it's unacceptable? They shouldn't have to spend money rectifying a problem they haven't created.

If they did the work a year ago, and you've only had the car a few months, what's happened inbetween? Presumably the suspension was acceptable for the 8-9 months the previous owner had it? What's changed?

At the end of the day, a full setup will stand you at maybe 1 -2 hours labour max. If you're not comfortable changing the settings yourself, then plump up the cash and pay someone else to do it.

I honestly think you're being quite unrealistic.

Interesting debate! I come from a school where there is still some trust left between customers and service providers. If I say I haven't touched the car then I haven't. By way of illustration, I have specialist garages I've been dealing with for over 20 years on some of my cars. We agree the cost, I pay my money and in return I get great service, true expertise and a genuine love of cars. JKM just lost £2k worth of immediate servicing, brakes and other items, and the same again every year for ongoing maintenance, so I shall happily take my custom elsewhere.

I return to my main theme: JKM clearly don't "love" cars, which is a very important guide for me when choosing a garage.

I think some of the posters should expect better service from people they pay good money to. Maybe this is why Audi dealers have got used to charging through the nose - because most Audi drivers just cough up without any dialogue or relationship.

And I'm sure if you pay good (any) money to JKM they'll give you better service. But you've not paid them anything. So - why should they work for free? :)

But has it 'failed' as you've stated? What's actually wrong with it? This isn't clear. Why do you have two threads on the same topic? Neither giving any actual detail.

This is the problem. If I paid for it and wasn't happy then I'd take it back. You didn't pay for it though. Somebody else did, and if there was anything wrong then he would have taken it back surely?

Why have they lost £2k in servicing costs? Why aren't you using the other garages you've used in the past?
Think there may be more to this story that you've not told us about.
Have you spoken to the person you bought the car off? Did he like the ride? Did they have the suspension fitted or was it fitted before they had it?

Previous owner had suspension fitted. Drove it for 6-8 months then apparently sold the car 'because of the suspension' (despite not taking it back for remedial work).

Just saw the other thread Ross. A bit random isn't it.

Yes. And quite unfair to the trader IMO.

Yup. Agreed. It winds me up when people come on a forum as good as this and complain about saftness like this, can really hurt a companies reputation for no reason.

Just searched for JKM on here and although not many posts; the ones there are seem very positive indeed!

This thread makes me want to go and use them now!

I can't see why OP thinks he's got any case. They fitted a product to somebody else's liking and now having bought that car and having different tastes is demanding they change it to his tastes under a warranty. I don't see it either guys, bizarre!

The OP has indeed gone very quiet however. Perhaps lesson learnt. :)

Tent outside JKM and a picket sign?
