High Performance Brake Squeal Issues

Post by ROY » Sat Apr 12, 2014 10:04 am

Seems like a lot of high performance cars suffer from this, what is the best way to deal with it?
Looks like pottering about feathering the brakes glazes the pads causes the brake squeal.
Pal at work had his pads changed under warranty on a BM 320d xdrive and the noise came back, he's now got a 435d xdrive and its started on this car. The M5 does it now and again but if i take it on the motorway and do some big braking from high speed on off on off on a slip road the squealing disappears for a while.
I know from experience using pads with hard compounds does cause it (i.e. Mintex even on non performance cars) but with big brakes its unavoidable.
So when squeal occurs what do we do ?
Flap and take it back to the dealer or stamp on the brakes and get em warmed up
Gone but not forgotten boohoo !!!
