More pics in my "Fluffy" link in my sig but nothing I have owned can touch my last Impreza (STI 5). I modified everything that I possibly could in the 3 years I owned her. 492/473 in just about 1200kgs. Fantastic handling if a tad too forgiving and would have utterly destroyed the 6 up to around 160.
Had to sell her to help the then fiancée out of a financial hole. Realised that I loved the car more than her and split up with her less than a month later:

My old man is an Impy nut. He has had Type Rs and 4RAs Sti and turbo 2000. I think he has had about 7/8 in his life. All imported by us.
The fastest car I owned was my MR2 at roughly 425/450 hp and the same ft lbs.
Off the line it was crap but from rolling nothing could touch it.

Love it; if I were to put a classic in the garage it would be a Skyline.
My attainable 'pin up' is a GTR, my age though stops me from buying until I can comfortably afford to run one as a second car.

Yep. I bought my first one well before the chav crowd could think of buying them. The ONLY good thing about selling her was that chavs were starting to drive around in lots of shed-like versions, which I didn;t count mine as, funnily enough. Don't start me on the stickered to death ones......geek wrote:Seeing less and less tidy examples of these about now....

Re: 'Gone but not forgotten' Pictures Thread
I know I have already posted up the Defender but this one is a gnats whisker of a second place.
Nothing has had the presence or theatre of this car; it had everything from suede head lining to BMW's Individual Audio. It went in the end as SWMBO's N reg Cavalier (yes you did read that right) finally had to go - she wouldn't part with it until it literally fell apart on the drive! Since then, we have had to split the costs reasonably evenly between both cars. It was always great fun to park the M5 up next to the Cav, people would always want a go in the Vauxhall!
These were and still are like hens teeth - in the entire time I had this car I only spotted two others on the road, it was a proper traffic stopper.....the noise, oh the noise!

The Cav!
The amount of times this thing covered me in oil, brake fluid and coolant were countless......we all loved it to bits. My love was more of a b@stard love child kind of love, I do though miss hunting around old fashioned scrap yards for bits though. My fondest memory was being told by Vauxhall that a new ignition barrel was £150; twice the value of the car
......went to the local scrappy, left with an entire steering column for a 95 Cav in the boot of an e61 M5 - awesome. After that we had to start it with one key making sure the original key was in the car to sort the immobiliser; oh what fun to take the key out and leave it under the car on the drive; SWMBO's would get 50 ft up the road for the car to conk with the alarm activated - that gag never got old (for me at least)

Same issue for me with the 8L S3; I had one when they were not long out, I looked at putting one back on the drive last year as a nostalgia trip; pretty much everything had been ruined and the more I looked for them on the road the more I spotted properly chaved; what's with the obsession with putting 20 inch A8 rims on an A3?!Mr Footlong wrote:Yep. Re: 'Gone but not forgotten' Pictures Thread
When I first past my test all I wanted was a Cav GSI. They were brand new back then and looked awesome. So instead I got a Seat Ibiza System Porsche. Hahahha.
My friend has a Vectra GSi which he will keep forever. Its 12 years old but in mint condition and has 140k on it but still has no probs.
