righto, now on a Ferry heading for Greece

covered best part of 350 miles today !! cut it in half with 2 hrs at the beach in between ... its a hard life

was in San Marino this morning, what a cool place ... 2,500ft above sea level and these mental castles up on top of mountains

So, over 1,500 miles from home so far ... the BFG is still on 44MPG and hasnt put a foot wrong, apart from being BIG FAT and HEAVY !!!

I've got 16hrs on this bloody ferry, so if I can find a plug for the lap top I'll catch up with whats been happening

Sounds like your having a good time, still no mention of the cost of beers in Monaco though.

Can't moan at that mpg. Take plenty of pics.

In Athens now

fcuk me
1. this place is hot ! 38 degress
2. this place is mental ! If anyone thought London was crowded, you need to see this place ! wow

I've parked the BFG in the most dodgy of dodgy underground car parks, so I'd say there is a 90% likely hood its windows will be smashed through when I go to get it tomorrow .... I doubt the greeks will have the intelligence get through the audi security to steal it

Greece driving is also nut, there are no rules ... a big 50miles stretch from Patras on route to Athens is a single carraigeway motorway, with no central reservation, and people just overtake at will on the otherside of the road, and for the weak, they cower on the hardshoulder, so though its a single lane carriageway, it has 3 lanes of traffic !!

the 16 hr ferry crossing went well ... first time iv ever taken sleeping tablets, and they worked ! I slept for 9 hrs in a aircraft type seat ! it was either the tablets, or the rohypnol the BFG spiked me with

1,700 miles done.

Got a 5 miles drive to Piraeus to get a final crossing to Kos. Then 6 days of normal holiday, before all the mental driving starts again, at least on the way back I've got the Stelvio Pass and Davos to look forward to

Will try and post some more pics later once I've had a nose around the Acropolis

Your arsehole must look like a C6 RS6 Milltek exhaust tip about now... if your pre-CATs are gutted then that's some serious deep dicken from the BFG.

I've got a place in Kos Town, is that where you're staying, or Kardemena ?

In Kardemena, in some rat hole, last minute booking for less than 240 notes, just me and my mate, having a wee holiday before he goes to Afganistan in Sept.

If you are near, come out for a few beers mate. whats the data roaming charges like there?????

Kardemena is the other side of the island mate, its good for nightlife ... you'll have a blast mate

Im in Kos Town, its much prettier there with the Castle, Marina, Port, Harbour and old Town etc ... its still got a banging bar street 5 mins walk from my place

The Brits tend to occupy Kardemena and the Dutch and Scandavians occupy Kos Town

We prob wont get down to Kardemena for a night, but if you make it Kos town drop me a text

I can afford (just) it just see how it compares to the Burj al Arab.

i looked at staying a night and cheapest room was £250 .... now, I could afford it, but I'd rather spend all of that on beer .... not in their bar mind as that may only get a couple !!

I didnt see how much their beers were Paul

Im on the final Ferry now to Kos.

Had a good day in Athens, seen all the sights etc

I know Greece is fcuked economically, but not seen one single nice car in the city at all. Even outside the 3 most expensive hotels in the City ...

In fact, I think the BFG has prob been the best car in the city !

So, all the driving is done now .... 10hrs Ferry, then chill

I'll be back with driving updates next Thurs/Fri as I start it all over again in reverse !

I've done this road.... sh*t innit. They're all bonkers and it's a real arse-clincher. Quite a bit of gravel and cra*p too, from what I remember.

Enjoy your relax mate..... until the return journey
