RS4s on ebay

Post by dhali » Fri Oct 06, 2006 6:53 pm

just been looking on ebay seems like a handful of B5 RS4s for sale. There are even two 02 (51 reg) ones available with reasonable milage each claiming you wont find a better example.
has anyone on here actually bought or would consider an RS of ebay?

I bought mine via Autotrader, but the guy was also advertising it on ebay. The problem with ebay is relying upon the description - there are so many variables when it comes to peoples perception of "immaculate" that there is no way I would buy a car without having seen it in the flesh for myself!
Golf R - with added MRC
Sprint blue B7 RS4 Avant - Sold
Ultimate Silver Nissan GT-R - Sold

1. this isn't a club, it's a forum.

2. why denigrate dhali for raising a discussion issue?, "train spotter" indeed.

3. how can you describe the members of this forum as narrow minded because we debate and discuss things?.

4. i'd certainly buy a car off ebay but i'd be wary of buying a car off someone who didn't know the difference between "their" and "there", "of" and "off" and "know" and "no". these cars demand huge amounts of care and attention and if someone can't be bothered to use the language of their mother country what else can they be not bothered to do?. health checks? pressure tests?, regular servicing?, Vag-Com checks?. thankfully the members of this forum have enough sense to differentiate between an enthusiast owner or someone who hasn't the foggiest idea of what a fantastic car he's had the good fortune to own.

if you wish to hit me with your replies please try to be grammatically correct, it makes it so much easier to read.

I firmly believed we still retained the right of Freedom of Speach in this country, and as a new member Mr Scaffy, ask you to respect the rules of decorum on this forum. People's views are not alwys affected by their wealth, more so by experience and by information passed amongst the various threads on this forum.
I have seen no evidence of train spotting, just 'someone' posting in an aggresive manner, No thanks, if you do not like the views revealed by the forum, you have a right to say so, but without the insults. Please take note, Yellow Card issued, if you understand my drift.. by all means take part, but do so in a non confrontational manner :drink:

Rs4s on ebay

Post by dhali » Sun Oct 08, 2006 5:13 pm

Scaffy you are quite correct in saying there is only ONE 02 RS4 on ebay i should have said TWO 51 plates. I never said i or anyone else should never buy from ebay, i merely asked the question " has anyone bought an RS or would consider buying one from ebay?"

I am NOT disputing the condition of your car or the other one BUT
If you read the other car that is advertised they are saying you will probably be pressed to find a another cleaner example aswell. Many of the guys on here will probably be able to tell you the amount of cars that they have viewed prior to buying one that have been advertised as "immaculate condition, maintained regardless of cost etc are dissapointing when viewed in the so called flesh.
You will probably find that if your car is as good as your saying it is, it will sell itself. i know this from experience by the number of people who i have asked if they wanted to sell their car and those that have asked me if i would consider selling my car.

anyway goodluck with your sale and now wheres that ANORAK and TEAFLASK..

Scaffy mate youve shot yourself in the foot really by being a little over confrontational, Ebay is as good a place as any to sell a vehicle. But if i were to sell mine it would be on a forum with enthusiasts and like minded people who are looking for such a vehicle who appreciate what the car is all about, who are prepared to pay that little bit extra for that little bit of extra perfection catch my drift.

hi yes i understand in wot you are saying, but wot pissed me of is that dhale posted a (roll eyes) as if to say mint weve heard it all before,i no wot mint means as i looked at 16shitas before i bourght this one and as a person who has always had very good clean cars sutch as show wining escort cosworths,i find him narrow minded, and if he woz to look propely at the picks on ebay he would see a very clean rs4,and it would ov been nice for him to ov said, hey lads their is a nice clean rs4 on ebay,
