What's happened baz?

With regards to dates, will check the diary and see what dates I can do as I don't want to miss this!!! Haha. Seriously will put to a vote but I think second half of this year. Hopefully we can get a big turnout if we give enough notice. :)

Phil T has kindly put this as a banner on all threads for 30 days, so when it goes down I will go through the thread and get the names of all that are interested and we can vote on a preferred month. Democracy rules and all that. Once we get a date we can take it from there.

Happy to get input from all who have been before too, and any locals that live there too :thumb:

In my experience, just plump for a date.

Nothing will suit all

Build it and they will come

Plus, don't try to bank on weather. It will equally be pissing it down in July as it will be tomorrow. Quattro FTW

Hi Phil, fellow Kent-er here. Keep a look out in the Trackdays and Meets forum for a Boxhill meet. Here is the last one - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=122206. We will be doing another in the next couple of months I reckon, around March/April time.
Ok thanks Simon, will keep a look out  feel free to send me a msg when they come up

In a good year, I make four or five trips to Wales for the fun of it. Already partly referred to, but I would suggest:
Saturdays and Sundays: non-starter. The bikers are out and that brings out the Police. The roads are also too congested with day-trippers.
Any day of the week during school holidays: way too much traffic to make progress of any form. Caravans are also a prominent feature of Welsh roads in the school holidays.

I can just about wring some fun out of Welsh roads during the school holidays on a bike - but I can blat past long lines of frustrated drivers to pass the slow-coach at the front of the queue and then crack on. I can't imagine how you would get on in an RS6, I would think it would drive you crazy.

As for weekends, you will spend your time being buzzed by idiot bikers looking for a race.

Your only good times are weekdays outside of the school holidays. Then it's brilliant.

Hmmm, thanks for this Wildbore, but if we need to do a weekday then that's me out. I have no holiday left at all this year, already have 7 trips away booked up, including 4 stag do's. :drink:

What do you lot think about Wildbore's suggestion of going mid-week?

I've always gone for a sunrise blast on weekends and never an issue.

Early bird catches the worm !

TBH, unless you are in the highlands then nowhere in the U.K. Is quiet enough unless you first thing am.

Agreed, but these guys are talking about a two-day trip. I assume they don't want to spend from 8.30am onwards back in the hotel waiting for the next sunrise.

I don't disagree, but it's a long way away for some of us. Wales makes a pretty good second best if you are south of the Lake District.

Mmmm...not sure you'll get many people in for a two day trip.

Morning blast 7-12 is the sweet spot.

I'd be up for this too depending on dates. I work weekends so the start of the week is best for me and where I live on the North Yorkshire Moors I'm spoilt for roads and they are usually empty when I'm out. :biggrin3:
