Recognising DRC / Air suspension

Post by RiggsRS » Thu Sep 14, 2023 8:47 am

Hi everyone,

Can you easily recognise DRC or Air from the outside of the car? And/or does anyone have the codes for these 2?

Thank you,

Riggs

I *think* the Air cars always have the removeable panel mounted in the centre of the rear diffuser that provides access to the tow bar as part of the "towing preparation" pack that is fitted as standard, whether a tow bar is fitted or not. I believe the DRC cars have a single rear diffuser with no separate centre panel as they do not have the towing preparation option due to the tow bar itself not being available on DRC cars. You would need to have someone else on here confirm that but, if I am right, then this is an easy "tell" for an air car.

Thanks for the tip. I have found the manufacturer codes: 2MC = DRC. 2MA = Air

I have asked about 12 dealers for pictures of their car from the back, as well as a photo of the owners' manual with the option-codes Sticker and it does seem like DRC cars all have a one piece diffuser, while a car on Air has the (slightly visible) removable panel. So that is an easy tell from the outside, and the production codes can always be checked too :rocker:
