Other than a bit more power what does the performance model give you over the standard model ? Every time I find a performance model with the spec I would want it has the blue stitched half leather which I don't want. I know it seems very popular with people but I like full leather.

Also what are must have options ? Having come from a very high spec Range Rover svr, I like good specked cars.
Is there a list on here somewhere explaining what the options are ?

As others have said in response to one of your previous posts, all RS6's come with a lot of nice specifications, but the more the tech the more the cost of the car. As mines a late 2014 model I'm getting Android Auto retro fitted to my MMI: https://bavarian-automotive.co.uk/colle ... di-3g-high so should you go for a car that doesn't have that as standard, there is a work around to it.

Re: PE models - on that Fontain video they say the PE models came with the blue stitching as standard (or at least that's how I interpreted it) - but I'm sure there are many PE owners on here who can clarify that. FWIW there appears very little in the way of useable performance difference between the 553 HP and 600HP versions unless you consider that you need that shorter 0.2 sec 0-62mph difference, but each to their own.

There appear to be some really great cars for sale at the moment, so I'm sure you'll find one that suits your taste.

I have the blue stitching in the alcantara seats and the blue carbon fibre weave. I think also the PE models came with the Sport Exhaust option, and the 5 V spoke star wheels.

I've been looking through loads of adverts and it seems the standard cars seem to have many more options fitted when ordered than the PE models.
I love the PE wheels but am now struggling to see why so many say to buy the PE model if you can find one.
I've also noticed a massive difference in prices between cars that are of similar age spec and mileage. Some as much as £8k more which I can only guess is due to used car prices and people trying it on.

I wanted a PE primarily for the more robust wheels, at the time the PE's for sale were also generally better specced than regular models. There does seem to be a glut of well specced 67 plate PE's on the market at the moment with HUD, Pano roof and all the tech packs. I find the 360 camera option okay but the resolution is pretty low compared to others I've used so I use it with caution, I never use the adaptive cruise, the adaptive braking has only activated itself a couple of times and each time for no real reason. Soft close doors is a nice option but ultimately bit of an indulgence, advanced key gives you keyless entry but (on mine at least) is hobbled by the fact that the car needs to be unlocked for the boot function to be enabled.

I've attached brochure and price so you can see the difference between the two.

What I can say after watching the market for a long time, cars with the comfort seats, non sport (round) steering wheel or aluminium interior trim tend to stick on forecourts for much longer.

As for the price differential on the market you should probably factor in any impending works due on the car; tyres, brakes, servicing, warranty etc - some cars could be wanting £4-5k spending on them within the first 12 months of ownership.

No problem, here's a tip for test drives (assuming stock exhaust) if comfort is too quiet and dynamic too harsh, try setting individual up - put all options into comfort apart from exhaust, put that into dynamic, you get a much deeper tone but without the cracks and bangs of the gearbox being set to dynamic, which I also find lends to a far more comfortable ride. It won't be as loud as an SVR but it'll be closer in feel.

I don't think anything standard will be as loud as my svr was. Mine was the last of the loud ones before they started fitting the OPF. I think most of my neighbors were glade to see the back of that car Lol.

Worth noting that the PE spec was on top of the standard 2015 and onwards spec.

I had a PE from new and tbh the price new (with a deal) wasn’t that much more than the non-pe version

All you got in terms of tangible extras I think was:

Higher spec engine
21 inch wheels
Sports exhaust
The blue seat stitching (I went for grey)
Carbon interior inserts with blue weave (I went for normal Carbon)
Titanium outside package (I went for gloss black)
Privacy glass I think
And a button on your steering wheel to change the driving mode


Recently sold mine, prices are a little silly but I think that’s the same everywhere. My wife’s Tiguan has gone up 4k since she bought it 2 years ago!

After making a profit on my svr after 2 years of ownership I'm thinking maybe wait for the used car market to get back to normal before buying a RS6 as some seem to be priced at 5-10k more than they were when I looked 12months ago.

Don't want to buy something and loose £10k as otherwise I could of just kept my svr.

If you are in no rush then I would wait.

I didn’t really want to sell mine as it was mint, but it had gone up 8k second hand vs a year ago and as I’m going to work abroad for a bit then it was a no brainer

The specialist dealer who bought it from me then sold it next day for a profit

There is no big difference between 2014 and performance versions: pe has other lights front rear and 50 more Hp, it’s not worth any money
