Start up dial movements and revs

Hi
Is it a standard feature for the C7 RS6 PE 2016 models to start up with a load roar and the dial needles swinging to the right and then immediately to back?
Apparently my neighbour got annoyed about the start up noise - not the cold start, but the initial "roar" of the engine on start up.
I asked the company that did the Stage 1 tune, thinking it was an additional part of the tune, but they said it was OEM but were happy to take it off....sounded like a bit of BS to me?
Tried to find a vid on
YouTube and saw one guy where the dials went crazy on start up - but no roar of the engine.
Hope for some insight! & hope everyone is having a fun summer.....

It is standard for the car to Rev upon start up, yes. Even once it has warmed up. Most RS cars have this feature.

Yes, They all do it. More so when the engine is warm. And the needle gauge swing is standard also but you can turn it off if you use an OBDeleven OBD reader (Google it)

Thanks for your help guys, its just the noise (I love it) but the neighbours dont. Oh well.... I will look into the OBDeleven option.

If I wanted to do this with the
VCDS software - would I be okay using the HEX V2 cable?

Personally I would ignore the neighbour - the start up roar presents a chance for you to be awakened when some low life decides that they are entitled to deprive you of owning it!

Feeltheburn - Yes, you have a good point.
I just bought a faraday box, as a neighbours X5M just got stolen off his drive....

After - some sound advice and a bucket of "f@ck it", I decided to let it be, it kind of brings a smile to my face and the kids when it fires up.

it’s a spirit of a car when it fires)

Get the Milltek valve control module. If you start up in Comfort mode it keeps the valves shut, which significantly reduces the startup noise. Of course you really want it so the valves stay open all the time (in dynamic mode). In Auto mode it’s OEM behaviour.

As I understand on cold start up valves open by a reason, I don’t think lowering close it can be not healthy for a car
