Heated electric mirrors dying

Post by viio » Mon Nov 23, 2020 2:49 pm

Hello,

The heated mirrors on my 2013 RS6 have stopped working, and they've also started getting "stuck" intermittently when they fold out. Normally I just flip the little button and they'll unfold correctly. However, the heaters have never worked. I do have a VCDS log entry for them. Has anyone else had issues with the mirrors?

I was wondering about this today - my facelift cars mirrors appear not to be heated which surprised me?!

Depends which position the switch is in. Only heated in the middle position if i remember correctly.
Mine struck a couple of times when folding in, but you can fold them in manually by pushing on them. A couple of times doing that and mine have not stuck once since

What an idiot. I'd never noticed that there was a heating sign on the mirror switch.

But mine are dying for real, anti dazzle still works but heating went, first on driver side, now on passenger. Glass is damn expensive. Anybody else?

Its usually the wiring in the mirror itself. Either a broken wire or corrosion. The door panel would need to come off and the wis checked for load/continuity.
