21 inch alloy replacement.

Post by Jamie_P » Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:00 pm

Hi all,

When my dad bought his MY15 FL, we noticed a weird droning noise coming from one of the wheels. We thought nothing of it regarding it was “AWD noises”

Later down the line (last week) we thought to get it checked out. We had the wheel that was making the noise checked out - turned out to be buckled!

Just wondering if anyone could link any genuine 21’s (Black, Non-PE) or a part no.

Thanks :nogarors4:

If it’s a minor buckle it can be repaired easily - I had to have all 4 done

Just been told it’s not a minor buckle, and that it can’t be repaired.

By Audi? I would ignore. By reputable repair company? Time to go shopping on eBay. :greyrs4:

Audi slough told me the same... so I took them to the company Audi slough use for wheel refurbs and who specialise in repairs. Unsurprisingly, very much repairable and now all is good. Where are you based? I used these guys

I have a 21 inch “very slightly buckled”. Audi said they wouldn’t repair as they don’t do that but said it was easily repairable! It is just sitting in my garage.

Audi Cam email attached saying it didn’t need replacing but I did anyway.

I would say Audi maybe sends that picture to every customer as default)

Of course that is a stock photo that accompanies all emails from my dealer. When you get the email sent to you there is a video of the actual work being looked at - so a technician is on the video filming under my car sand showing the slight buckle of the wheel and marking it out clearly. I didn't bother attaching that!
