Brake pads

Post by johnny11 » Sat Aug 03, 2019 11:54 am

Am I right in saying the OEM For the brake pads are made by ATE for the Front and PAGID For the rear?

Also just Looking at a post from a while ago did anyone get these front brembo pads from the seller and if so were they ok?

Hi

Think it’s Brembo front and Rear tbh, but you can get OE equivalent ie ATE and so on..

Brembo Rears are avail from Eurocarparts and Brembo Fronts from EBay and Amazon (same prt nos as Merc and so on)

I've had EBC YellowStuff pads on all round for the last 35k miles with the OEM discs. With racing brake fluid (not sure what type) I noticed a massive difference in braking performance which was very disappointing at first.

Ive ordered the front Brembo’s from here which include the wear sensors, all in for a tad under £70

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/brembo/11804327

I believe they are the same ones ECP are selling for £214.

So will see if they are any good.

Just checked and ECP now sell both front and rear Brembo, there’s usually discount deals on too so worth checking as today front and rear brembos are £191 giving a saving of over £100

Asked to new pads in and was told they can't as the disc is worn in so they would to machine the disc and since its drilled, they don't want to machine it which means I need to get new pads and discs wtf

Careful getting pads from ECP. In the past they have sold the cheaper compounds from certain manufacturers and they're dangerous.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

After all that I went OEM for discs and pads all round as the car is under warranty for another year, but sourced the discs myself from Cardiff Audi front and I think MK Audi for the rear and got my local indie to fit my discs but they supplied and fitted the OEM pads. Saved me around £1k but still using OEM parts.
