Warranty... views please....

Hi all,
I bought my car a week ago and the '
Shop' sold me a WMS warranty, everything covered except wear and tear items they told me .... however having now received and read the exclusions, it appears that not everything is covered as sold... So I have cancelled this warranty and taken an extended warranty direct with Audi, yes it cost more, but I think for piece of mind it was the right choice as my experience with the Audi warranty on my C5 RS6 was excellent.
Do you guys have warranties or not? I was 'thinking' of changing the sports exhaust for a Millie, but now I have the Audi warranty, I dont think I can as it has to be un-modded... And if I were to have any turbo or engine related issues they would blame the millie... which I suppose has saved me a couple of K and paid for the warranty
Car is a 64 plate and has covered 25K miles. I plan to do about 4-5K max a year so maybe wont even need the warranty, but there is a lot going on in these cars! My C5 suffered from the dreaded DRC failure and I deffo got my monies worth on that warranty. I hear that the C7 DRC is better, but still read about failures so really got the warranty with this in mind (along with all the electrickery)!!
Any views appreciated...
Cheers,
Lig.

I have an extended Audi warranty. Ive put on a cat-back Milltek, I don’t believe that will cause any issues.

Thanks guys,
That is interesting as they told me it cannot be modified. I would have thought they would point blame at anything not standard...
Have any of you guys with the Millteks made a claim?
Cheers,
Lig.

Thats probably the key question.
I'm in a similar dilemma, warranty runs out in a few months, do I extend or modify

I’ve also recently purchased Audi Extended Warranty, and my car is in for discs and pads replacement under warranty due to being warped. Nothing to do with the extended side of things but i’ve noticed a slight coolant leak appearing on the thermostat housing joining the water pump, so thats getting done under warranty. No millie for me but I would like to point out that struts are excluded from extended warranty. If you have a close look at the excluded items, its notes that struts are not included!

Thanks Onurserkan,
I am pretty sure the 'Gas Struts' are referring to standard shocks on 'standard cars' or even the struts that hold the bonnet open. I am sure the DRC system is covered as I had parts of this replaced numerous times on my C5 under the warranty and I have read on this forum of people having it fixed under warranty.
Also for the 'Named Component Cover' (which is the lower of the two covers available) it states the following under 'what is covered' - Suspension: All components including self-levelling system; wheel bearings; switchgear; ECU and relay; hydraulic pumps and valves.
Cheers,
Lig.

I have warranty from WMS, I was a little sceptical at first but after hearing from a very good Independent (CLP in Sheffield) that they were amazing to work with when a 991 Turbo S Engine blew up and paid out no questions asked - I've been more than happy.

Thanks Adamstocks,
Have you had a warranty claim with WMS? Not that it matters now as I have cancelled it and gone with the Audi warranty.... There just seemed too many exclusions on the WMS cover and like you I was too skeptical ....
Cheers,
Lig.

Which dealer agreed to change the discs and pads under warranty? Notts Audi have always had the stance that it isn't covered due to wear and tear.
On a side note I've just gone with the Audi extended warranty - All Component Cover, 250 excess for £550. Thought that was a bargain!

£550 is very good!
Strangely mines a 14 plate and entering the same details as you they quote double that! Can’t be down to bring 6 months to a year older surely?

I’ve done a few quotes on even newer RS6’s with low mileage and they all come out just shy of £1100 - how are you getting £550?!

No idea to be honest. All done through the Audi website. Put the number plate in and they did the quote online. I expected it to come back as over £1K. The only other factors are that the car has done 16700 miles and I will do less than 10000 miles per year. The car is three years old in 8 days time. That's it.
