Performance spacers

Post by MountainMutant » Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:13 pm

Afternoon
I have an RS6 performance on the standard performance 21” wheels.
Would like to get some spacers to improve the looks/stance.
Car is on air suspension and not lowered.
Any recommendations for what sizes to get?
Will it increase tyre wear and would the car need an alignment too?

I have the same set up as you but I have had the car lowered by 40mm.

I’m just off to the garage now to try various spacers so I’ll report back. Initial expectations are 11mm rear and 8mm front.

When mine was lowered 40mm I couldn't get any spacers on tbe front but 15mm on the rear.

20mm on the back was too much, so have settled for for 15mm rear, with 10-11mm fronts.

Will post pics when they’re on.

Thanks for pics. Some pulled back ones would be good. Are you pleased with the result?

This was just a trial to get the right size. I’ve opted for 15mm and they’re being fitted next week. I’ll post when they’re on.

I ran 12mm front and 30mm back and had zero additional wear issues as a result of having spacers fitted. My car also had air suspension.

30mm? I assume you are talking about per axle whereas most people here are talking about per wheel.

Probably worth noting you had 275 width tyres as opposed to the 285 width on the 21s.

What Mike said, so 15mm per rear wheel and 12mm at the front.

Perfect.

Now nothing is ever simple. If I order 12/15 I then need new bolts that come in loads of lengths!

What length do I need?

Think standard bolts are 27mm so add the thickness of the spacers and find the nearest match. Eg for 12mm I'd be looking for 39mm so closest match is probably 40mm.

If you go to revolution they will sort the whole package out for you.
