Rear washer not working-f/p/footwelll damp?

Post by UrielsMachine » Wed Mar 27, 2019 6:50 pm

Noticed the rear washer wasn’t working after l had purchased the RS a few weeks ago and got home. Have been working away a lot and decided to investigate tonight...found that the front passenger footwell carpet is slightly damp. Is this connected? Bust hose under carpet?. Will be ringing the garage l bought it from tomorrow :audibash:

Don’t suppose you have a Pan sun roof by any chance?!

I'm guessing the layout is the same as the old C5. There's a joint in the pipe somewhere near the Pax door - on the C5 you simply took up the door trim and could access it quite easily.

Surprised they haven't fixed it given that it's an obvious design weakness! :audibash:

No connection the hose wouldn't be able to leak internal . Really common for the jet nosel to corrode and fail will be a £4 fix at Audi to change out when it's in .

Pass footwell, you are the third person to mention this in as many months . Theres a few posts on this of late :audibash: . Get straight on to them its a major design fault .

Right. Yep l have the pan roof. Door trim. What’s that. Thought the hose would have ran through the footwell. What’s the design fault with the passenger footwell?

All replies most appreciated. I’ve had previous experience with water in Audi footwells which has fried the electrics so l need to get to the bottom of this ASAP.

Cheers lads.

Check this recent post by Johny on footwell leak (DS)

As your car is just purchased recently the dealer would have obligation to sort this out for you .
