Audible Locking Option?

Post by 2Brains » Wed Feb 20, 2019 10:15 pm

Evening all,

Just a general question - can you change settings so that when you lock the car there is an audible chirp or honk?
Had it before and quite like it as a confirmation of locking.

Separately is there any options or settings to be changed using an OBD or is it Vagcom only?

Cheers

You will need Vagcom tool to do it - had mine changed to chirp on my previous 6
Theres loads you can do - There is a thread on here, just do a search :)
Close the boot remotely on 2015 car
RIP CD's onto hard drive
Change brightness of the DRL's
Turn off seat belt pinging when not wearing it.

You can close the boot remotely on older cars too. I have done it on at least 2 pre facelift cars. You can also get it to close using the button on the drivers door.

Other changes I like are:
Stop the handbrake coming on when the drivers door is opened (useful when parking)
Rear lights on with DRLs
Option to turn DRLs off in MMI (useful when working on the car and need ignition on but don't want lights on to drain battery).

I have programmed my FL to close the boot by the key.

So have I. Done about 10 facelift cars and at least 2 pre facelift. My point was that its not just facelift cars that can have it done as Iain mentioned 2015 which implied it was facelift cars only.

Has anyone managed to get into the hidden menu on the C7.5? I tried following the steps in the guide but with no joy

Thanks all - I guess the next question is how much for a Vagcom communicator and how complex is it to use?

Ie, likelihood of me making an arse of it!

You could probably make most of the changes using one of the cheaper OBD plug in dongles like OBD11 or Carista etc.

Thanks Mike - I’ll try out the basic plug in tomorrow to see what’s available!
