2014 RS6 C7 Cutting out on start up.

Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has had this issue or any input! I have a 2014 C7, I would say 1 out of 30 starts it fails. It will fully crank, sort of sounds like it is firing up then just cuts out. Once it fails to srart once it will then not start by itself unless I put down some throttle, at which point it will start instantly!
Seems very weird to me, as I am pretty sure it is an electronic throttle so not sure why me putting my foot down helps.
I am probs have to take into the stealers, just was not sure if anyone has any quick fixes I could try first?

I’m having the exact same problem with my 2014 C7 RS6. Been in to dealers they can’t find anything wrong surprisingly. Keep us updated when you have some news.

I had a slightly different issue and after two failed attempts to diagnose a fault I rang Audi CS, low and behold they booked car back in changed some bits and it’s been fine ever since. Get onto Audi CS.

I have the same issue, also a 2014 car, cuts out on start up and have to give some throttle input to get it to fire up again. I’ve noticed when it cuts out the auto stop/start icon is on the dash which seems strange.
When it happened the other day I got a fault with the auto stop/start system which cleared itself after a few days.

My issue was start/stop related and they replaced the fuel pumps alongside some other bits can’t remember what.

Yes, mine also says its Start Stop straight after it fails.

Was this done out of warranty? Would be good to get an idea on cost!

Hi, I have an RS4 B8.5 (2015), and the engine was periodically cutting out whilst driving.
My AR (Authorised Repairer) said that it was due to an intermittent fault on the fuel pressure sensor. The part itself was about £60 but required 4.5 hours of labour to fit, as the whole top of the engine has to be removed. The quoted cost including labour and VAT was the best part of a four-figure sum...

My 2017 PE there up a start stop fault the other week, wouldn't start, then did start. Not seen the issue since

Hi,
Have an update on this, went into Audi last week, they came back with the below:
Exhaust - Aftermarket exhaust system fitted,
pressure control valve's removed, faults stored for
both valves, this could potentially cause the starting
when warm issues, would require fault to be
rectified before further investigation can be carried
Has anyone else on here had the PCV's removed? Is that normal practice with an aftermarket exhaust?

If they are talking about the exhaust valves then I'd be amazed if they caused any starting problems and it's just the useless techs trying to pick a problem with the only issue they can see.

I was thinking that - on your Miltec do you get any codes thrown up on the diagnostics?

When I disconnected my exhaust valves on the standard exhaust it used to throw up fault codes until I fitted some milltek valve delete modules that basically trick the ECU into thinking the valves ares till connected. When the milltek exhaust was fitted 3 years later I kept the valves disconnected and the delete modules fitted.
