Sounds like exhaust has fallen off!

Hi Guys,
This noise has happened twice now on my RS6 and also once on my wifes A6 (both 2017 models).
It happens when driving relatively slowly - sub 10mph. It sounds like metal being dragged, its horrible! I exit the car expecting to find some crazy damage or something trailing, but nothing! check under the car, check all brakes, check exhausts, but I cant seem to see anything sinister at all. I jump back in the car and drive off slowly then the noise stops and everything is fine.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Cheers.
EDIT: I found this quote from a VW Audi forum "This is due to the brake pads holder not returning back in position so pads are touching the brakes disk. i.e holders are stuck. Usualy hapens in cold whether when the hand brake has been applied for a long time. After the car is driven for a while the "stuck" looses itself. don't apply the handbrake in cold whether when car stationary for long time or have a garage to look into it and mayby clean the hydravliks. i t my need new brakes fluid as well."
